Vanity Another Characteristics of an Orphan Spirit

• When a person seeks public accolades for achievements or accomplishments, they are seeking worldly approval and showing that they desire to be seen of men. This is vain glory because we should not do anything as believers to receive glory. Gal. 5:26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one, envying one another.

• Sure, people may desire to recognize us, celebrate us, or promote our ability or even tell of our accomplishments, but when we do it, it's vanity! Eccl. 2:11 Then I looked on all the works that my hands to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun.

• Being blessed of God is one thing, but using it to get attention is another. We should always esteem our brothers and sisters higher than ourselves, so this means that we cannot increase ourselves in the eyes of others. Phil. 2:3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

time.

For the past few weeks I have been teaching on the subject of “An Orphaned Spirit” You do not want to miss the upcoming message that God is revealing to us!

John 14:5-14 – Yeshua Messiah is the way to the Father and His Kingdom!

Romans 8:12-17 – Those who are led by the spirit are sons of God !

When we are adopted into the family of God it is a permanent change. It alters our identity and gives a permanent security in belonging to this new family.

An orphan spirit causes us to lose our self-identity!  This the reflection of Islam and produces a constant need to “find ourselves” and to know our own value.

Orphans become desperate to establish their own identity without the aid of others. An orphan spirit leads to a need to be totally intendant. It causes us to push others away even when they are offering much-needed help

Characteristics of an orphan spirit:

A feeling that should only get what has been earnedRelies only on self (not willing to have hope in God)Distrust of othersUpset/Angry when other are praised because it is seen as a threat to own successEasily Offended Unable to set down rootsGoes from Church to Church and unable to adapt to a true spiritual teacher and leader

Adoption provides an inheritance and an identity. The orphan spirit is seeking a reference for how to define itself but adoption meets this need.

An orphan’s primary focus is survival. An orphan spirit makes a person overly competitive and highly sensitive to any criticism.

Matthew 10:27-31 – We are highly valued by God

The kingdom focus is one where we operate in power and authority and peace. We are designed to live in authority and not from a lowly attitude.

I urge you to not to miss the Part 3 “The Origin of an Orphan Spirit” this coming Sabbath February 22, 2014!

In this series I will  also reveal the Spirit of Islam which is actually rooted in the Orphan Spirit! You will see how this will play in the coming days, and God is revealing it in His Word !

So please come and learn what God is revealing to us! Remember  God will reveal from the beginning what will happen in the end!!!!Isaiah 46:10 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

10 At the beginning I announce the end,
proclaim in advance things not yet done;
and I say that my plan will hold,
I will do everything I please to do.

In His service,
